Whether you’re talking about big time supermodels, chart-topping pop stars or a former Angel’s ethereal glow, there’s just something about that Down Under look. And while we haven’t yet figured out how to export the sunny Sydney lifestyle, these indigenous Australian beauty brands sure pack a pretty punch.

Aesop

We’re not shy about our Aesop obsession (exhibits A and B), and with good reason: the Australia-based line wrote the book on products that look as chic as they smell. The Resurrection soaps and hand cream have taken up permanent residence in our arsenals, and the Parsley Seed products have proven to be potent antioxidant overachievers.

Grown Alchemist

Building on the grand tradition of high-purity Australian organics, the Muijs brothers’ product line is an exercise in science-y sophistication. Typography-centric packages hint at the chemistry-packed potions within, and the cell turnover experiments you can test from the comfort of your bathroom are bound to unleash your inner lab geek.

O&M Original & Mineral

We got our first dose of O&M goodness when a particularly savvy L.A. salon overhauled their shelves to focus on the Sydney-based company’s chemical-free color care. Formulated with exotic Australian ingredients and packed with vitamins, this is high-performance hair management. (Bonus: everything from the shampoo to the Surf Bomb to the Atonic spritz smells amazing).

KORA Organics by Miranda Kerr

Who better to serve as the poster child for Down Under beauty than native goddess Miranda Kerr? Frustrated by the lack of natural products that actually delivered results, Kerr enlisted Aussie ingredients like Noni fruit and responsibly harvested rose hips to power her KORA Organics line. We’re suckers for pretty packaging and elixirs that just smell good for you. But our glowing, moisturized limbs and effortlessly tinted complexions prove that the product benefits are more than skin deep.

KEVIN.MURPHY

We’ve been in a state of tress bliss since road testing this cult Aussie haircare line’s genius wash and rinse duos a couple of months back. The multitasking formulas deliver (and they add serious pastel prettiness to your shower lineup). The Angel de-stresses colored strands while the Hydrate-Me has finally managed to quench a dry or frizz-prone day.
