C’est La Vin: St. Barth Wines & Cocktails

C’est La Vin

If ever there was a place that could be classified as having “rosé drinking weather”, it would be St. Barth. The balmy climate and unhurried joie are as complementary to the daily goings on as any wine pairing could aspire to be. We took inspiration from locally distilled rhum, an iconic sand bar and a particularly beloved wine store in crafting a beverage menu sure to indulge a vacation state of mind.

The Apertif | Punch’s Planteur

Punch's Planteur copy_mini

We can’t lie, in St. Barth, we really do think that woman could live on wine alone. But for those moments when only a cocktail will do, Jean-Georges’ Punch’s Planteur at Eden Rock is the ideal alternative, its sophisticated, tropical kick just “Caribbean” enough to be a festive St. Barth tribute.

  • 1 ounce Mount Gay Rum
  • 2 ounces pineapple juice
  • 2 ounces orange juice
  • 2 ounces guava juice
  • Squeeze of 1/2 a lemon
  • 2 teaspoons grenadine
  • 4 teaspoons Myers Rum

Fill a glass or shaker with ice and pour in the above ingredients, with the exception of the Myers Rum. Shake vigorously. Add the Myers, pour into a martini glass or coupe and enjoy.

La Cave Du Port Franc sparked our Sancerre and rosé love affair, which we ardently continue no matter where in the world we find ourselves. The perfect complement to a sunset soirée, a light, crisp wine piques the palate and lets a tangy salad and simply grilled fish shine.

When it comes to the number of days we’ve wished ourselves back on the sands of Grand Cul de Sac lounging at La Gloriette, we can safely say we’ve lost count. A sip of their dangerously easy-drinking rhum vanille makes you feel that much closer to being back on their palm-shaded patch of sand.
